Marshmallow cake

Marshmallow Chocolate cake

Ingredients

  •  1 Chocolate sponge
  • 150 g Marshmallows
  •  250 ml Cream
  •  Icing sugar for dusting (for decoration)

Method

  •  Cut chocolate sponge in halve and put bottom in a tight fitting ring.
  •  Bring cream to the boil.
  •  Add the marshmallows and stir until melted.
  •  Pore melted cream and marshmallow mixture in ring on sponge.
  •  Place the top piece of cake on top.
  •  Be careful the mixture is very hot and let the top piece of cake “float”on top.
  •  Refrigerate for about an hour.
  •  Cut cake carefully out of ring.
  •  Place a doily on the cake and sprinkle icing sugar with a sieve to form a design.
  • Serve cold with runny custard.

Serve 8 portions
