Brown lentil Dahll

Ingredients

  •  1 Onion
  •  2 Potatoes (to your taste peeled or not)
  • 1 Cup brown lentils
  •  1 Teaspoon Garum Masala
  •  ½ Teaspoon Mild yellow curry
  •  2 Whole Cadamon
  •  2 Bayleafs
  •  ½ Teaspoon Black pepper corns
  •  3 Whole Cloves
  •  ¼ Teaspoon whole Coriander
  •  2 Teaspoons vinegar
  •  30 g Tomato paste
  • Pinch of Salt

Method

  •  Chop and fry onion with bayleafs, black peppercorns, cloves and coriander 
  •  Fry until lightly brown
  •  Add remaining spices
  •  Add vinegar and immediately  4 cups of water
  •  Add the brown Lentils
  •  Boil until soft about 30 min
  •  Add potatoes and simmer until soft
  •  Add the tomato paste and simmer for 5 min
  •  Serve on White rice or Basmati rice
